A day in the life of a woman. She is only to be seen in excerpts.
What is important is not the woman as an observer, but rather what is to be observed: the everyday images and sounds. Put together like Lego blocks, a poetic density emerges, a rhythmic soundimage.

Three situations from everyday life: an excursion, a migraine attack, and an afternoon on the couch. An image of an atmosphere from the middle of life emerges in a few, almost static images – in between tedium and coziness, between communication and contemplation.

The brief moments that take place “in passing”, which we cannot really grasp, but which still form the essence of our being, are the leitmotif of the film. In the seemingly commonplace attempt to reach the interior of the eponymous church, the difficulties of modern human beings in “experiencing” the moment and their insecurity about their own desires and wishes are condensed in only three minutes.

In a hospital`s aftercare ward, the patients are waiting, wrapped in bandages, holding diagnostic reports, reading free magazines.
Waiting to be called up for an X-ray, check-up or monitoring.
The monitors beep. The coffee machine hums. A wheelchair
silently glides past. Nachbehandlung (After treatment) transforms an
everyday situation into a choreographed audiovisual mosaic, the
portrait of a microcosm, a snapshot of life.

ADMISSION TO PARADISE FOR 3€20
A 2008, 12 min, Mini DV / Beta SP

The myth of paradise has inspired people for time eternal.
Modern leisure facilities attempt to recreate this illusory place.
In the center of the story of the images: the guests at an outdoor pool.
They jump from the ten-metre tower, sit at the café, swim or sleep.
Satiety and prosperity define the atmosphere. The outdoor pool
turns out to be a kind of democratic paradise, institutionalized, and in
contrast to the exclusivity of the Garden of Eden, it is open to all.

ABOUT A STREET

Dametzstrasse - this is not a boulevard but a typical thoroughfare. It is a one-way artery with traffic noise and pollution. What is it like to live here?
The manifold everyday life of the street that is not visible at first glance unfolds in this film in episodes. "About a street" is a story about colourful life at various paces, within different cultures and distinct parallel worlds.
For one year the movie camera has been watching people living and working in this street. Watching them at work in a document depot, at a chorus rehearsal, in the film projection room, during TV transmission of a World Cup match, in a park, in the children’s room, at the inauguration of a sex temple, in a car wash, at the petrol station and during prayer in church and mosque.
A film giving insights and outlooks, making facades permeable and transparent, showing the universe within the microcosm.
